Our firm commenced operations in Cornwall in 1954, providing professional accounting services to individuals, businesses and municipalities. Since that time, we have expanded our practice to service the demands of a growing community.

Our current personnel consists of five partners, eight professional employees and four support staff, all of whom are from Cornwall and area.

Our firm members take an active role in the community through memberships in various clubs and participation in many not-for-profit organizations.

Following years of steady growth, we purchased our own office building in Downtown Cornwall (310 Second Street West) in 1992. Our staff has created a positive and vibrant working environment, and the downtown site has provided a convenient urban location from which to service the financial needs of many companies and organizations.

Our client base is comprised of a full spectrum of the commercial community located throughout Eastern Ontario, including proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, municipalities, not-for-profit entities and charities. Our services encompass accounting, auditing, taxation, computer assistance and selection, financial planning, business valuation, estate and succession planning, employment compensation and pay equity consulting. As a result, we appreciate the many challenges facing business organizations in the region.

Our firm has substantial and comprehensive municipal experience led by Ross Markell and Jamie Pollock, and supported by a core of experienced professional staff.

In addition to our Municipal Services Group referred to above, we have a full complement of staff involved in non-municipal work. They are responsible for preparation of financial statements for our many corporate and unincorporated clients as well as the associated financial advice and tax return preparation.

Our office employs a sophisticated and modern information system, currently operating on a PC based LAN. We utilize the most up-to-date office and accounting software packages available (e.g. TaxPrep, ACCPAC, Simply, QuickBooks, etc.) leading to everyday efficiencies and ensuring full compatibility with client and government systems.

Three of our support staff provide bookkeeping assistance for many of our smaller clients, who do not have their own accounting personnel. This includes payroll preparation, bank reconciliations and other accounting work as required.

One of our staff (George MacDonell) is involved in personal and corporate taxation on an almost full-time basis. He has taken several in-depth tax courses sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a key resource person in the complicated tax issues facing our larger clients.

Gerry Laneville is our in-house computer "expert" and is invaluable in providing computer assistance to us as well as many of our clients. He has assisted in computer set-up, selection of appropriate hardware and software and is involved on a very active basis with computer training for many of our commercial and non-for-profit clients.
